AVID Open Access is here for you.
Each new school year brings excitement, energy, and anticipation. As teachers, we look forward to seeing a new group of students and starting a new year of learning together. We find value in the relationships we build and eagerly await our chance to make a positive difference in the lives of our students.
At the same time, the first days of school can leave us feeling a bit nervous, uncertain, and anxious. These feelings are natural, especially when we care so much about what we do, and we recognize that there will be challenges along the way. In fact, as this school year approaches, many of us will be facing some of the greatest uncertainties of our careers. What will our classrooms look like? Will we be teaching our students face-to-face or remotely, or will school be some hybrid combination of the two? How will we design with flexibility and change in mind? If we don’t meet face-to-face, how will we connect with our students and families and establish relationships? With all that’s happening in the world today, how will we support our students emotionally?
We also understand the importance of equity in our classrooms. Every student is important, and we strive to provide each of them with the best learning experiences possible. At the same time, we recognize that there will be academic achievement differences that may have been compounded by remote learning last spring. We must identify the gaps and find ways to raise the performance of all students.
At AVID Open Access, we understand these challenges, and we are here for you.
