Begin With Self-Learning About Citizenship and AI

  • For citizenship:
    • List types of citizenship.
    • Research, define, and detail each type.
    • Create a Venn diagram.
    • Discuss commonalities.
  • For artificial intelligence:
    • Complete a KWL Chart.
    • List what you already know about AI.
    • List what you want to learn about AI.
    • Research to answer questions.
    • Share what you’ve learned.

Apply It in the Classroom

  • Develop AI citizenship guidelines for your classroom.
  • Require every student to contribute ideas.
  • Use a T-Chart or Y-Chart.
  • Use lists as anchor charts.

Go Beyond the School Walls

  • Connect AI and citizenship to content standards.
  • Identify a target community beyond your classroom.
  • Apply AI and citizenship to your context:
    • Critique AI responses.
    • Make students be the teachers.
    • Compare and contrast.
    • Have AI help generate ideas.
