Facilitate Effective Student Reflection During Digital Learning

We want our students to “own” their learning. We want them to set goals, work hard toward reaching those goals, and then develop a plan for overcoming obstacles that occur along the way. Essentially, we want them to be able to attempt, reflect, adjust, and retry until they succeed.

In a self-paced digital-learning environment, this skillset is perhaps even more essential than during face-to-face instruction. Yes, teachers will do their best to check in and monitor students’ progress, but because of the nature of digital learning, there will not always be an adult immediately available to encourage and guide students through the learning process. Students will need to take on more of this responsibility.

Explore this collection for tips, guidelines, strategies, and tools that you can use to engage students in self-reflection during digital learning.
